Episode 58 – With Candida Seasock

Candida remembers staring up at the Statue of Liberty in awe.

At nine years old, she had just arrived on a ship to the U.S., alongside her mom and sister. Candida would spend the rest of her childhood marveling at her mom’s ability to stretch out a dollar and support her family on a low income.

Fast forward to over 50 years later, and Candida is a business owner who has also formed several nonprofit organizations. She is the Founder and President of CTS Associates, LLC., which specializes in fostering client growth and management success.

Tune in as Candida tells Lynn all about her network of women helping other women, gives her take on the #MeToo Movement, and shares money lessons she learned from her mother.

Episode 57 – Isobel Wayrick VP at Mars International

Isobel Wayrick hadn’t even begun high school when she received her first paycheck.

When Isobel was 15 years old, she and her parents immigrated to the U.S. with little money. Determined to afford a college education for their daughter, Isobel’s parents got her a part-time job—another source of income for the family. The Scottish teenager would spend that summer filing papers in a stuffy, dusty attic for Sherwin-Williams.

Over 60 years later, Isobel is an accomplished wildlife photographer and vice president of Mars International.

In this episode, Isobel and I share a humorous and warm-hearted conversation about finding avenues for self-expression, taking the leap to becoming self-employed and ultimately becoming financially independent. Learn more about this baby boomer woman who took money into her own hands, all while having fun.
